M STUDIO’S PHILOSOPHY
Coming Full Circle
At the core of M studio’s philosophy is our Panoptic Approach to brand development. This detailed creative process begins with a strategic planning workshop, which establishes the framework for the look, feel, and voice of your brand, thus paving the way for a comprehensive branding campaign. Through this approach, marketing efforts are aligned, creating a complete, unified vision. While we believe this method provides powerful results, M studio also offers all of our branding and communications services on an a la carte basis.
At M studio, we don’t specialize in one particular industry; instead, we specialize in effective marketing and communications—whether it’s using design, copy, digital media, or an event to send a potent message. And, we apply this expertise to companies of all sizes, in all industries. People come to M studio because we offer the best in novel and compelling branding and communications solutions.
A Personal Touch
A good relationship is critical to the health of any business venture, so we make sure to develop solid relationships with all of our clients, working with them in a partnership to get their message out in a creative, convincing way. The team at M studio brings personality and a high-level of customer service to every project, no matter how big or small. Some might say we dote on our clients; we call it really good customer service.
We Love Our Work
There’s that old saying that if you love the work you do, you will never work a day in your life. Well, we understand that, as each of us here at M studio has a deep passion for our respective crafts. Educated at top institutions and groomed by industry leaders, we are always looking for inventive ways to take a project to the next level. We love seeking out new opportunities to further develop our skills and refresh our perspectives. As art critic John Ruskin once said, when love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece!
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU:
An effective marketing campaign begins with strategic planning. Through this service, M studio helps your company gain a clear sense of its identity and goals, resulting in a detailed roadmap of how to implement your brand development process. In the end, this method helps ensure projects are streamlined and cohesive.
Creating and maintaining a compelling visual identity and voice is a fundamental part of any company’s success. M studio can brand you in a way that is original and creative and, ultimately, connects your customers to you. Whether it’s a logo or an entire branding campaign, M studio knows what it takes to stop your audience in their tracks.
From brochures and business cards to posters, stationary, and packaging, M studio believes in creating unique print collateral that makes a lasting impression. We also offer progressive retail solutions—such as signage and displays—that will help engage and persuade your customers.
Whether you need a website or a mobile app, we can create results-oriented digital media that works with all of your brand elements, adding another angle to our Panoptic Point of View.
A targeted PR strategy serves as a valuable extension of a company’s brand message. Using our customized approach to media outreach and community relations, we work hand-in-hand with our clients to develop and maintain a strong public image through various avenues, including traditional media outreach, social media strategies, informational seminars, and guest appearances. We have an extensive network of contacts and are well versed at working with the media to gain maximum exposure for our clients.
Through implementing and managing social media—such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram—for our clients, we can help them quickly engage and interact with their target audiences, strategically enhancing their web presence.
A well-executed event is a powerful marketing tool. M studio plans and executes events that are in step with a company’s overall brand and help build relationships with potential and current customers.
We are often hired to provide creative direction on a consultant basis. In this role, the M studio team works with a company’s internal staff to ensure that all marketing collateral supports and enhances its brand identity and core messaging.
JENNA ZILINCAR, Creative Director
“I love it when people walk away from our work and see something in a different light.”
Jenna’s creative stance is simple: Create designs that affect people. Naturally inquisitive, Jenna is constantly seeking out new and exciting experiences, and it is this openness and curiosity that also informs her work, allowing Jenna to concoct original approaches to branding and one-of-a-kind designs that stop people in their tracks.
Jenna studied design at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she had the opportunity to intern at top advertising firms. Always looking for a challenge, Jenna decided to step away from her agency job more than nine years ago and start a place of her own: M studio. Since its modest beginnings, M studio has grown substantially, and the agency has helped countless clients find a distinctive voice that eloquently speaks to their customers.
SHANNON FUREY, Public Relations Director
“I see the extraordinary in the ordinary.”
Shannon has a true gift for uncovering an engaging story where others might not see one, and it is this gift that has allowed her to help companies—big and small—gain a strong public presence through an array of public relations strategies. She firmly believes that everyone has a story to tell, and, if you look hard enough, you can discover the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Attracted to the blend of business and creative that the PR field offered, Shannon honed her talents at New York University, where she earned a degree in journalism and mass communication. She went on to work for a television production company and a major advertising and public relations firm in Phoenix, Arizona, before landing her current role as PR director at M studio.
Having studied classical ballet for more than a decade, Shannon learned the value of diligence and hard work early on. She lives by the mantra: “Persistence and Patience,” seeing them as key ingredients to generating potent results both in her work and her personal life.
JOSH PIVNICK, Design Executive
“I pull from everyday life.”
Josh looks to everyday life for inspiration. Josh believes in taking bits and pieces from his life experiences and infusing them in his work. Josh was drawn to creative pursuits at a young age, and has been recording and playing music for most of his life. To Josh, the similarity between music and a corporate identity are obvious: “With both, you are bringing together all these disparate elements to create a single, unified piece that tells a story in an intriguing and hopefully unconventional way.”
After earning a degree in design from the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Josh started freelancing for various companies, including M studio, before stepping into his current role as design executive at the agency three years ago. Whether it’s music or brand development, Josh’s ultimate goal is to make a lasting mark, creating pieces that are timeless … and durable.
BRIGITTE CALI, Public Relations Executive
“I like to learn everything I can about my clients and their industries. Proper research can go a long way!”
An elementary education teacher turned public relations expert, Brigitte has been helping clients reach their full potential in the public sphere for the past four years. Her affable nature and incisive communication skills have allowed her to build an impressive list of media contacts and launch countless winning PR campaigns for a wide range of clients.
Brigitte fine-tuned her written and verbal communication skills while attending Villanova University, where she earned a degree in liberal arts, with a minor in English. Brigitte likes to approach every project with a fresh perspective, and she believes that a successful PR campaign begins with a robust plan. Of course, she also understands that no plan ever works exactly as expected, and knows very well that being able to swiftly acclimate to change is just as crucial as the plan itself. While Brigitte is interested in every aspect of PR, she really enjoys developing and promoting events, gaining deep satisfaction from seeing them come full circle.
JENN SHAUGER, Designer
“I love seeing an idea grow into something real.”
If there is one thing that Jenn loves, it’s creating. She is always on the hunt to expand her horizons and try new things, inside and outside of work, and she is constantly searching for outlets for her design talents—whether it’s drawing on wood in her garage, sewing, or designing invites for friends.
Jenn took her love of creating and parlayed it into a career in design, earning a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design from the Mason Gross School of the Arts. She started her career soon after as a designer for M studio. Drawn to the fast pace of agency work, Jenn approaches all of her projects with boundless enthusiasm, an open mind, and a deep love for her craft.
Jon E. Girson, VP Business Development
“I was always fascinated by the business element behind the creative.”
Intrigued by Bewitched’s leading adman Darrin Stephens’ onscreen job of landing clients and pitching concepts, Jon knew from a young age that he would one day pursue a career in advertising. Before joining the M studio team, Jon worked as a sales director with Adweek but eventually grew weary of the New York lifestyle. Recognizing the growth potential for businesses in and around Asbury Park, Jon and his partner bought a house in Ocean, NJ, and Jon found his new home at M studio.
Jon now works as a member of the M studio team, earning new business and promoting the agency. The drive and ambition Jon brings to the office also translate into his love of keeping active outside of work. From riding his bicycle, to swimming in his pool, Jon enjoys being able to take advantage of all the activities beach living affords him.
WILL NEWMAN, Web Developer
“I enjoy building things that I know people will use.”
Will first found he had a knack for web developing when he offered to help a cousin build his own website. He grew increasingly interested in the process and soon began to teach himself the ins and outs of coding. As his knowledge of web development increased, Will became intrigued by the design side of website creation. He nabbed a spot as a summer intern at M studio, and, recognizing his natural talent and attention to detail, the agency quickly hired Will as a freelance web developer.
Hoping to expand his knowledge of ever evolving technologies, Will is currently enrolled as a computer science major at Rutgers University. When he’s not busy studying or developing state-of-the-art websites, Will also enjoys exploring his creative side through photography.
HEATHER JONES, PR Account Manager
“I love being able to reach a wide variety of people.”
As a member of the M studio public relations team, Heather realizes the importance of building relationships between businesses and customers. Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Rutgers University and now works with M studio, promoting people, products, and destinations through traditional PR and social media campaigns.
While much of Heather’s job takes place behind the scenes, she enjoys working with tools like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest and watching business-customer relationships grow stronger with her help. Outside of the office, Heather keeps entertained by SCUBA diving, but she also finds solace in laying low and relaxing at home with a good book and a glass of wine.
ALICIA COLLURA, Communications Coordinator
“I like the challenge of finding that balance between creativity and structure.”
Alicia has always had a passion for art in general, but her love for the intricacies of the English language led her to focus her artistic creativity into writing. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Boston University, and, after working on personal projects for a few years, Alicia began freelance copywriting. Alicia also has a passion for organization and communication, and she appreciates that her position on the M studio team allows her to combine her creative talents with her organizational skills.
At work or at home, Alicia’s affection for the written word is an integral part of her life. Alicia has a special fondness for early 20th century literature, and some of her most prized possessions are included in her modest but growing collection of rare and antique books.
SUZAN GLOBUS, Strategic Planning Specialist
“Strategic planning reenergizes businesses; not to mention, it helps them operate more effectively and profitably, and everyone is looking for that.”
Suzan, a trained strategic planner and change leader, has served as a consultant for numerous for-profit and not-for-profit corporations, helping them gain a crystal-clear vision of who they are, where they plan to go, and how they will get there. To her, the actual process is the most valuable component of strategic planning because it helps to align and energize all those involved. Suzan loves to see people get excited about their work, and she is a staunch proponent of the power of strategic planning, which she sees as an important first step in any branding effort.
